Bobolink Dairy Farm and Artisan Bakery in Vernon, NJ is our new favorite stop. Bobolink's cattle are grass-fed (a novelty in the USA), a mix of modern dairy breeds with Kerry cattle. They also keep pigs (for ham) and chickens. Their bread (organic) is baked in a brick, wood-fired oven. Our favorites are the cranberry-walnut breadsticks (best when hot out of the oven) and the cheddar cheese. The first time I tasted it, I said, "Now I know why people in the "old days" were happy to live on bread and cheese." Satisfying and delicious. Their website: http://www.cowsoutside.com/
