Bread and Cheese

Bobolink Dairy Farm and Artisan Bakery in Vernon, NJ is our new favorite stop. Bobolink's cattle are grass-fed (a novelty in the USA), a mix of modern dairy breeds with Kerry cattle. They also keep pigs (for ham) and chickens. Their bread (organic) is baked in a brick, wood-fired oven. Our favorites are the cranberry-walnut breadsticks (best when hot out of the oven) and the cheddar cheese. The first time I tasted it, I said, "Now I know why people in the "old days" were happy to live on bread and cheese." Satisfying and delicious. Their website: http://www.cowsoutside.com/

For all the saints who from their labors rest...

There is something wonderful about worshipping in an old church. When praying there, I can almost hear that "great cloud of witnesses," the past generations of saints, say, "Amen." When singing, I can almost hear the echoes of their praises ringing off the aged walls.
In the past months we have enjoyed several preaching engagements at the 213 year old Amity Church in western Orange County's "black dirt country." At least one of the current members can trace her family lineage to the founding fathers of this venerable rural church. The folk have been kindly welcoming, even inviting our little ones to help ring the church bell. Thank you, saints of Amity. We will remember you.

J.'s Stamp Album for Christmas

My stamp album is blue. I don't only have stamps in my album . I also have first day covers. One of the first day covers has a picture of Santa Claus on it!That one is my favorite. Some of my stamps have pictures of people on them. Some people have long hair, some have short. My stamps also have pictures of flowers. I only have two flower stamps. One stamp has a red flower and one flower is yellow.
Not all my stamps are new. Some are already used. Some are from Austria, some are from Kyrgyzstan, some are from Germany, some are from Russia.
